Packing your bags

What goes in the hold

Put large liquids, sharp items, tools and sports equipment in your hold bag. Label every bag inside and out with your name and a phone number.

What stays with you

Keep medicines, keys, valuables, travel documents and anything with a lithium battery in your hand luggage. Power banks and spare batteries are not allowed in the hold.

Liquids

In Terminal 1, liquids in containers up to 2 litres can stay in your bag. In Terminal 2, liquids must be 100 ml or less, in one clear bag that you take out at security.

Oversized and special items

Pushchairs, car seats and wheelchairs travel free on all four airlines. Take pushchairs to the gate. Drop off skis, golf clubs, bikes and other large items at the oversized baggage desk: check-in zone C in Terminal 1 or zone F in Terminal 2.

If your bag does not arrive

  1. Do not leave the baggage hall.
  2. Go to your airline's baggage desk, next to the belts.
  3. Show your boarding pass and baggage tag.
  4. Keep the reference number you are given. Your airline will deliver the bag once it is found.

If your bag is damaged, report it at the same desk before you leave. Airlines usually need damage reported within 7 days.

Lost property

Left something in the terminal, a car park or a shuttle bus?

Report it using the form below. We keep everything handed in for 30 days and check reports against it every day. If we find a match, we will email you.

Left something on the aircraft?

Contact your airline. Items found on aircraft are handled by the airline, not by us.

Collecting your item

The lost property office is in the Terminal 1 arrivals hall, next to the taxi rank. It is open every day from 08:00 to 20:00. Bring photo ID. We can also post items to you for £12 within the UK.

Report a lost item

This is a demonstration form for a fictional airport. Please do not enter real personal details. Nothing you type is sent anywhere.

We contact you here if we find a match
